Meet The Team

Shane has been focused on data and the digitization of places, people or things since 1995. He is passionate about big, disruptive ideas that shift power to individuals and agrees that the rules of the web and mobile world can often be confused with 15th century feudalism.

When not leading rebellions of data serfs at Personal, Shane is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a board member of the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation and the Institute for Education, and co-director of the Media & Technology Roundtable. Shane caught the bug for startups after helping launch the International Crisis Group at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He graduated from the University of Michigan.

Edin oversees the development team and contributes to the company's products and overall strategy. He thrives on challenging existing systems with new ideas and the single mission of creating a better place to live. Besides working at Personal, his favorite pastimes are cooking dinner for friends and playing tennis. Edin went to Sarajevo University in Bosnia. @edinsaracevic

Doug is responsible for strategy, finance and business development. He is excited to help people realize the power and value of their personal information. When he’s not working, he spends time with family and tinkering with his Shelby Cobra. He received a BA from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. @douglasbwheeler

Tarik is in charge of Personal's platform architecture, security and operations. He spends his time trying to make sure the saying: "In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not." doesn't hold true @Personal. Outside of work he loves family time, playing and watching soccer, photography, and playing music. Tarik went to Salem State College in Massachusetts. @TarikTech

Jen is responsible for product management at Personal, including the platform requirements, user experience and design that creates a great owner experience. Jen is excited about putting control in individual's hands, and loves knowing that she will be able to organize her favorite restaurants and wines in one place so she doesn't forget the big hits. Jen likes to try out new restaurants in her spare time and bleeds Hoya Blue. Go Georgetown!

Greg has been charged with herding the company's cats into a straight line and building a stable and secure environment.  He believes that privacy is not dead and is ready to fight inside the cage or out to keep it that way.  Greg likes to spend his off hours with his wife and family, often in impromptu jiu jitsu lessons with some of his six children. @geek_king

Camille develops processes that help the office – and its executives – run smoothly and efficiently. She loves being organized and making people’s lives easier. Camille has plenty of experience at this – she has four teenagers! Outside of work, she explores our awesome planet with her family. Camille attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. 

Josh oversees legal, policy and media affairs for the company. He was previously in the Washington, D.C. office of the global law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he was a litigation partner and the co-leader of a practice specializing in integrated legal, regulatory, political, and communications strategies for public and private companies, including early-stage companies. Josh has a background in politics and, early in his legal career, focused on privacy and data protection issues in the United States and Europe. Josh is an adjunct law professor at the Georgetown University Law Center. He graduated from Yale College and Yale Law School.

Que leads all aspects of marketing and consumer public relations efforts for the company. Prior to Personal, he was the head of marketing for Nike East. Que joined Personal because he believes in empowering people to be in full control of what matters most to them. Que’s accomplishments have been impressive in the areas of marketing, advertising, entertainment, sports, fashion, and early stage start-ups. When not working he loves spending time with his wife, Cynthia, and their three ambitious children. Que is an avid enthusiast of sports, cars, sneakers, and both smooth jazz and house music. He graduated #1 in his class from Florida A&M University’s School of Business & Industry, and has his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jerry focuses on ensuring that the company’s infrastructure is secure, scalable and highly available. He joined Personal because the mission and approach – individuals, not businesses, get to control their information and who accesses it – appealed to him. Outside of work, Jerry spends time with his family, online gaming, and watching the Baltimore Ravens. He attended Towson University and Salisbury University. @jgilyeat

Alex works with partners and developers to create more ways for individuals to leverage their data in products and applications. He believes consumers will play a key role in enhancing applications of the future by providing correct and meaningful personal data to trusted vendors. Outside of work, Alex used to spend as much time as possible skiing, surfing and climbing – let him know if you find a way to do any of those near DC! Alex graduated from Harvard University.  

Matt handles partner relationships, allowing owners to use their data to save time, money and have more enriching online experiences. He loves the company's principles of people owning and monetizing their data, asking instead of inferring, and using data vaults to replace our yellow sticky note systems. Matt enjoys family, travel, photography, and running. He graduated from the University of Michigan and has an MBA from Georgetown University.

Ashley works with the marketing and product teams to create an unparalleled user experience. She previously worked in marketing for Warner Bros. and Polo Ralph Lauren and is thrilled to change the way people store and share their personal data. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys hanging out with her boyfriend, exploring new hikes, and watching great movies.  Ashley graduated from Harvard College and received her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. @ashmpeterson

Katie wants you to fall in love with the product. She helps design the features within Personal to make it something that you can’t live without. When she’s not knee-deep in gems, you’ll find her on the town, enjoying our Nation's Capital. If you’ve got any good recommendations, grant her access to your Favorite Restaurants gem. Katie attended William & Mary and has a masters from UCLA. @keshields

Denise leads Personal’s marketing efforts focused on audience growth and engagement. She is excited to never lose another password and spread the word that you don't have to either.  When not working, Denise is outdoors photographing wildlife and probably dreaming about her next trip to Africa.  Denise has a BBA and BA from James Madison University and an International MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. @denisesimpson

Samir is a member of the operations team and helps to maintain the company infrastructure. He came to Personal to become part of a team that builds large, secure and highly available systems. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and traveling.

Ognjen is a software developer and is excited to work on a big idea with a great team. In his spare time, Ognjen plays soccer. He attended the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo.

Kosta is excited to join Personal because he loves the mission and heard nothing but great things about the company. His favorite things to do outside of work are to ride his bicycle, walk and photograph nature. He likes to ride motorcycles and hopes to own one for himself soon. Kosta is currently studying at the Faculty of Information Technologies at the University Džemal Bijedic of Mostar.

Vildana is the administrative assistant in the Sarajevo office and enjoys working with such a great team. She is excited to use data gems – particularly Account Logins – to keep track of office information (there is a lot!). Vildana graduated from the University of Sarajevo, School of Economics.

Adis is a software developer, focused on building the mobile version of the product. He enjoys challenges and working with the newest technologies. Adis' favorite pastime is playing football and watching it on TV. He went to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo.

Enver is responsible for quality assurance. He likes the idea of storing personal data in one safe place and sharing it with family and friends. In his free time he enjoys trekking in the mountains. Enver went to the University of Sarajevo.

Adnan is responsible for the iPhone application and API. He joined Personal to work with “bleeding edge” technologies and to be a part of an exciting startup. Outside of work he always tries to improve his knowledge by reading technology books and blogs. Adnan is finishing his Computer Science degree from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo.@adnanced

Lejla is a front end developer and loves working with new technologies and trends. Sometimes she dreams in code and speaks in tags but most of time she likes to smile, to dance and to enjoy life together with friends. Lejla has a Computer Science degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo.

Adnan is a back-end developer. He was attracted by the company’s vibe, flexibility and the chance to work with a talented bunch. His favorite pastimes outside of work are watching movies and listening to music. He holds a degree in psychology from the University of Sarajevo.

Vedad is a software developer, floating between the back-end and front-end. He joined Personal for the opportunity to work on a great product with the latest technologies and a fantastic team of developers. He contributes to several open source projects, and in rare moments away from code, he likes skiing and rafting. Vedad went to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo.

Dejan is an operation engineer and is guilty if personal.com is down or something is not working well. In his free time he enjoys dog walking and training, or spending hours on short waves chatting using Morse code. Dejan studied mathematics at University of Sarajevo. @bos_an_ceros

Emir leads the Sarajevo development center. He enjoys building teams and solutions from the ground up. He joined Personal because it's where an exciting idea meets leading edge technology. In his elusive spare time, he likes to travel with his wife and kids, especially going to the beach and eating good food. Emir went to University of Illinois at Chicago. @mulabeg

Ahmet is part of the QA team. He was excited to join the company and become part of the next big thing. His favorite activities outside of work are reading books, playing football and doing charity work. He is currently working toward his degree at the Faculty of Information Technologies, University Džemal Bijedic of Mostar.

At Personal, Haris writes beautiful code. He joined the company because the development community was very positive about Personal and he had a strong feeling it is the next big thing on the interwebs. Even when he is not at work and actively coding, Haris reads about coding (total nerd). He attended the University Džemal Bijedic of Mostar. @neziric  

Bruno is in charge of front end development. Bruno is in <3 with Javascript, HTML, CSS and ROR. This <3 led him to learn new things and learning new things led him to Personal. In his free time, he explores new technologies, new web design trends and, when he gets a chance, he drives his ATV through the woods of Bosnia and Herzegowina. @pawnda

Arnel is a front-end developer. He started at Personal as a QA tester, handling UI and performance testing. He likes to handle all interesting work challenges and love his work. Arnel went to the Faculty of Information Technology, University Džemal Bijedic of Mostar.

Armin is focused on API development. He is excited to be a part of a company with the potential to change people’s perception of online data privacy. He loves to travel with his wife, hang out with friends, read, and bike. Armin attended the Faculty of Information Technologies at the University Džemal Bijedic of Mostar. @krule  

Zijad is on Personal’s operations team. He was drawn to the company by the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and the idea of owning your online data. When not at work, he keeps up with latest news in networking and virtualization, and watches sci-fi movies. Zijad is currently completing his degree from the Faculty of Information Technologies at the University Džemal Bijedic of Mostar.

Vladimir is a software engineer focused on building solid web and mobile applications. He is happy to work on a project that has the possibility to disrupt so many things in good ways. He loves to travel all around Europe. Vladimir graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo. @vladexologija

Muamer works as a technical lead at Personal. He is excited about new technologies, real time systems and encryption algorithms. He enjoys technology and innovation events and keeping up with the latest trends. Muamer is passionate about his family, daughters, games, and travel. He graduated with a M.Sc. from the University of Sarajevo.

Jasmina is a software developer, mostly handling everything related to gems. She is excited about Personal's vision and commitment to people. Passion for being useful to others is what drives her, so she volunteers at a local altruistic organization. Her favorite hobbies are photography and traveling. Jasmina has a Computer Science degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo.
